Strategic Plan
Process
The Auburn Career Center Strategic Plan was developed
in partnership with The Impact Group, which led a
comprehensive and inclusive community engagement
process to inform its direction. This process gathered both
qualitative and quantitative data to align stakeholders
around Auburn’s mission, providing innovative career and
technical education that empowers high school and adult
learners to excel in the workforce and make meaningful
contributions to their communities.
To build a well-rounded understanding of perspectives,
The Impact Group conducted extensive outreach through
focus groups, SWOT analyses, interviews, and four
community surveys.
SWOT analysis sessions were facilitated with both the
Leadership Team (including administrators, principals,
and department heads) and the Board of Education,
identifying organizational strengths, challenges, and
opportunities.
A series of fourteen focus groups invited participation
from key audiences, including high school students, adult
learners, partner district leaders, staff, school counselors,
community partners, and members of the Business
Advisory Committee. These discussions encouraged open
dialogue, helping to surface emerging themes and provide
context to the data collected.
To broaden participation, four online surveys were
conducted for students, staff, parents, and the community.
The surveys gathered quantitative feedback reflecting
diverse voices across Auburn’s community.
Additionally, personal interviews with area leaders and
partners provided relevant insights into Auburn’s regional
impact and future opportunities.
This thoughtful and inclusive process brought together
data and dialogue to capture what matters most to the
Auburn Career Center community. The resulting strategic
plan reflects shared values, a unified vision, and a
collective commitment to preparing students and adults in
Northeast Ohio for success in an evolving world.
